“The U.S. Foreign Language Deficit and Our Economic and National Security: A Bibliographic Essay on the U.S. Foreign Language Paradox, a book by Kathleen Stein-Smith, associate University librarian and director of public services, Giovatto Library (Metro), is held in 450 Worldcat libraries worldwide. Her article, “The Library-centered Campus,” was published in the January issue of Strategic Library. Two articles by Stein-Smith have been accepted for publication: “Many Languages One World, Promoting Multilingualism — The French Language Winners,” in the April 2016 issue of the AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) National Bulletin, and “Foreign Language as a Global Competency in International Language: Beyond Foreign Languages,” in the May/June issue of International Educator. Her blog, “Language Matters” (https://kathleensteinsmith.wordpress.com), has had more than 10,000 views, and her AATF Commission on Advocacy Facebook page has surpassed 800 likes.”
